Black Hook Charters About The Captain

Captain Andrew Reed is a Native Texan, born and raised in the Houston Metro Area. As a longtime resident of Stafford Texas Captain Reed has fished nearly every inch of Gulf Coastline from Cancun Mexico to Key West Florida- and literally everywhere in-between since the day he was old enough to drive!

Captain Reed is affectionately called "Hook" in his second hometown of Matagorda, Texas. From early Spring to Fall, you'll find Hook here amongst friends. Either at the Waterfront Bar & Grill sharing "fishing stories" and spirits, or at the cleaning tables after a long day of hauling fish on the boat. If you happen to be in town, stop by and say "Hey Hook!". He'll be happy to share a story or two with you.

In early 2000, and after thousands of hours and decades on the water, Captain Hook received his United States Coast Guard Captains License under the watchful eye of his mentor, Roy Ringrose. He is currently the Captain of Black Hook III, a 28' Pro Kat catamaran CC. The third boat in a lineage preceded by smaller V hull boats, Black Hook I & II.

Captain Hook also holds several trophies from past tournaments, and participates heavily in charity events like the famous Annual Texas Oilmen's Charity & Tournament and through trip donations to several regional chapters of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA). Whether you're looking for a relaxing day on the water with some friends, or fancy yourself as the extreme hardcore fisherman (or woman!), Captain Hook has the experience and vessel to make your day perfect!

But don't delay! The prime fishing season calendar fills up quickly starting around Fall! Make sure you get your name on the list before its too late!
