Captain Andrew Reed is a Native Texan, born and raised in the Houston Metro Area. As a longtime resident of Stafford Texas Captain Reed has fished nearly every inch of Gulf Coastline from Cancun Mexico to Key West Florida- and literally everywhere in-between since the day he was old enough to drive!
Captain Reed is affectionately called "Hook" in his second hometown of Matagorda, Texas. From early Spring to Fall, you'll find Hook here amongst friends. Either at the Waterfront Bar & Grill sharing "fishing stories" and spirits, or at the cleaning tables after a long day of hauling fish on the boat. If you happen to be in town, stop by and say "Hey Hook!". He'll be happy to share a story or two with you.
In early 2000, and after thousands of hours and decades on the water, Captain Hook received his United States Coast Guard Captains License under the watchful eye of his mentor, Roy Ringrose. He is currently the Captain of Black Hook III, a 28' Pro Kat catamaran CC. The third boat in a lineage preceded by smaller V hull boats, Black Hook I & II.Some other useful information about Matagorda while your down to visit:
